Feeling Creative

Tonight has been an interesting night. I have accomplished many many things! First of all I finally cleaned my apartment! I did all of my laundry, cleaned my kitchen, and swept/ mopped again! It felt really good to get the cleaning out of the way. Then I finished my Christmas shopping. I came home and finished making my gifts for my nieces and my mom. Then I started painting! I'm telling ya, I was feelin' crafty! Take a look at what I did!

Mini Christmas
Friday, December 18, 2009
Last night was our Mini Christmas Party. Like last year, we did a little gift exchange with socks and shots. It's such a fun and
inexpensive idea! I'm sad Molly and Adrienne couldn't join us
this year, but they both live far away.
We had so much food! Lindsey made delicious chicken lettuce wraps, Allison brought hot wings, Justine made artichoke dip, and I made the drinks! They were SO delicious! You should really try them!
After our gift exchange we played Christmas Song Pictionary and Taboo. I feel like I was laughing the whole night! It was so
nice to be done with finals and just spend some much needed
fun time with the girls.
After the games, we set up the Wii...

All I want for Christmas....
Wednesday, December 16, 2009
I was talking to my best friend, Molly, today and we got on the topic of Christmas. This year is going to be a little sad. As we grow older the magic of Christmas begins to fade. We have different obligations, different families, and different states that falls in the way of seeing our loved ones.
I've only celebrated Christmas for part of my life because my real dad was Muslim. For some reason when I was in the fifth grade my dad decided we would stop celebrating Christmas. So now that I am on my own, I have created some of my own traditions with my family. I love being able to spend time with Jim's side of the family. I get to see my nieces and catch up with Jimmy& Kayla, Nic & Sarah, and Brett & Nikki. I am so blessed that Jim came into our lives, not only because he makes my mom SO happy, but he added some awesome brothers and sisters to our family!
My brother, Jarir, will be coming into town for the holidays. I got to spend some time with him when I went to Seattle the other weekend. It's weird to think about how close we used to be when we were little, and now realizing that we hardly talk. I admire him so much for everything he has done and the person he has become through everything our family has had to deal with. He is so much stronger than I will ever be. I'm excited to hang out with him more and learn about the person that I have missed out on the past few years.
I'm not really asking for anything this Christmas. I have everything I need, and that is the truth. I am so blessed to have the most giving and loving mom in the world. She is my everything. I don't know what I would do without her. It is so nice to have someone who is always there for you, no matter the situation. She's got my back!
.....But if I HAD to ask for something.... it would be this!

It's a Flip MinoHD... isn't it cute?! So practical and comes with all the software you need for downloading, editing and it's so easy to share!
I think it could add an interesting dynamic to my blog... what do you think?

OVER LOAD

My mind is wandering to anything that isn't homework. I'm feeling very musical. I've accumulated some new favorites. These songs bring me peace, joy, heartbreak, anger. Lots of feelings. I love them.
What DEW you know?
My mind works like a 4th graders. I can't help but get amusement out of our title for our Science Fair Project. Science Fair Project? Aren't you in college, you ask.... Why, yes I am... but I'm learnin' to be a teacher! No need for REAL science! haha I feel kind of bad, because we made up a lot of our experiment, but that is ONLY because we tried THREE different ones and they just wouldn't work! We are scientifically challenged.
Switching things up!
Before Thanksgiving, I went on a little road trip to Seattle. My friend Courtney and I hit the road and made it over in what seemed like a few short hours. The pass was clear and I had my iPhone to guide our way. We met up with our friend Will, whom we stayed with that weekend, and met a few of his friends and lovely girlfriend Sasha.
Saturday Courtney and I were going to play soccer in the morning with Will, but decided to go shopping instead! We wet up with Will and his friend Adrian later that day. Adrian was quite the looker :)
The whole reason I wanted to get out of town was because I recently made some HUGE changes in my life. There are just a lot of things that I am changing and I needed a fresh start, ya know?
Kind of like when I moved to Texas for a year! It was a last minute decision, but it was one of the greatest choices I have ever made! I gained so much from that experience in Texas and I would never take that back.
Anyway, I'm getting off track! So we ended up getting dressed up and going to The Parlor, a bar where Sasha works. It was in Bellevue, and it was really nice! I got a little camera happy... and took some hilarious pictures of the friends we were hanging with!
For some reason when I get a few drinks in me I don't feel like smiling anymore!
Over all it was a really good weekend! I made some new friends, connected with some old ones, and made it home safe without using the chains my mom insisted I buy!
I'm a little behind!
I've been meaning to update my blog, but recently just haven't had the time! Right now there a million other things I should be doing including studying for finals, cleaning my apartment, getting my oil changed...the list goes on. But NO! I am blogging. And trust me, it's gonna be good :)
Thanksgiving break was amazing! I love the holidays because that means I get to spend time with my nieces. They are little princesses and I love them Oh So Much.
This is Aspen and Queenie. I cannot believe how fast they are growing up! After we were done eating Aspen decided to sneak upstairs and found a Christmas present! She wanted to show everyone what she had found, and decided to push it downstairs! haha... At first everyone thought Aspen had fallen down the stairs, but once they realized she was okay, it was REALLY funny!
